Life has got busy once more, and those days I could get out, I've preferred to spend with my daughter or the chickens. I've become de motivated, partially due to my only projects being a little nails.
I've been training, but mainly towards a healthy body, and ticking off indoor goals.
It's gone a bit wrong.
However, I have a plan...
"I am waiting for you, Vizzini! You told me to go back to the beginning… so I have."
Back to the beginning for me has meant two things; offwidths, and mymbyr.
In May, I returned to Georges crack, it still eluded me, but I had hope, and a return with a spotter / encourager will most likely bring success
You can see I made it to the lip, so the attempts at 7b's at the wall has at least improved my fitness.
Secondly, in both an attempt to climb alone less, and a trip down memory lane, I took a work colleague to
Feidr Fw. This pebble cluster in mymbyr is mentioned in the new guide, but left for your discovery. Emma was both keen on esoteric bouldering and trying offwidths, at least that's what she inferred.. I decided to test it:
The bloc in question (Happy Feet) is a great way to learn to invert, without hardly leaving the comfort of the ground. This prevents that common curtailer of offwidth inquisitiveness - falling on your head.
We followed this with a pilgrimage to Higg's traverse ( which is fleshed out in the guide) and it was mint!
I managed to link the latter half of the traverse ( which used to be a warm up for me 11 years ago), it has a delightfully technical finish which I blagged through with some " find the lady " like hand shuffling. The first half of this traverse has always eluded me but I'm keen to return.
Emma didn't run away screaming, and even expressed interest at visiting the
Tosheroon project. She is obviously either very kind, or barmy. However, so am I, and the game appears to be very much Afoot.
Come and play
